CANDIDATE IDENTIFICATION ACT 2018

An Act to provide to allow candidates for the Office of Prime Minister to also be denoted by their Facebook profile name.

BE IT ENACTED by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords and Burgesses in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. SHORT TITLE

This act may be cited for all purposes as “Candidate Identification Act 2018”

2. CANDIDATES FOR PRIME MINISTER TO BE DENOTED BY FACEBOOK NAME

A. Candidates for the office of Prime Minister shall be identified first by their Sconnish title (if applicable) and then their Facebook profile name which shall be included in parenthesis after their Sconnish title (if applicable) on the ballot for Prime Minister.

B. In the event a Candidate has a title in their Facebook profile name, only that individual’s first and last name of their Facebook profile name shall be used on the ballot.

3. CANDIDATES MAY OPT OUT

A candidate for the office of Prime Minister may opt out of having their Facebook profile name included on the ballot. In the event a candidate wishes to have their Facebook profile name omitted, the Election Manager shall not include their Facebook profile name on the ballot. The candidate must notify the Election Manager of this preference before the Election Manager creates the ballot.

4. COMMENCEMENT

This legislation and all the provisions therein shall come into force upon receiving the Royal Assent.
