AN ACT to ensure the rights of all Sconnish Citizens to have a seat and voice in the Sconnish Parliament.
BE IT ENACTED by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords and Burgesses in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
I. SHORT TITLE
This act may be cited for all purposes as the “Representation of the People Act 2021”
II. SCONNISH CITIZENS SHALL HAVE RIGHT TO PARLIAMENT SEAT
A. All lawfully initiated citizens of the Kingdom of Scone who have not been banished and have not renounced their citizenship are eligible to have a seat in Parliament upon taking the Affirmation of Loyalty for that Parliament.
B. A citizen who renounced citizenship and later was reinstated shall be entitled to a seat in Parliament.
C. Nothing in this bill shall prohibit Parliament from disciplining, suspending, or expelling its members under its standing orders.
III. AMENDMENTS TO REPRESENTATION RIGHTS Any amendments to the representation rights of the people stated by this legislation may not be amended or repealed except with the concurrence of 2/3rds of Parliament if sitting jointly, or 2/3rds of both houses if sitting separately. This amendment will only come into force if supported by 2/3rds of those voting for the amendment rather than against it.
IV. COMMENCEMENT
This legislation and all the provisions therein shall come into force upon receiving the Royal Assent
